The Azzurro 51cm desktop globe is part of the visually impressive illuminated globe range by Columbus, made in Germany. Showcasing up-to-date cartography and featuring incredible dual mapping. When unlit the deep blue globe shows political mapping, with countries defined by colour. When lit the cartography transforms to show the physical mapping, with an impressive 3D textured mountain effect and rivers that come to life with vibrant detail. The hand-laid map depicts oceans depths in varying shades of blue.

All focus of this visually impactful 51cm diameter globe will be drawn to the globe ball, as the minimalist design of chromed steel base and meridian helps only to enhance the globe’s brilliance. This globe is illuminated via a cable and looks fantastic lit up in a moderately dark room. Perfect for evenings in.

This range features small details that aren’t available on other models for example the Azzurro has shipping routes highlighted as with many globes but interestingly also has the distance of the complete shipping route.

A new way to interact with your globe.

The Columbus interactive pen is fully compatible with every Columbus product. Any globe that is called Duo, Duorama, Azzurro or Royal on JustGlobes will come to life with the addition of the Columbus pen.

At approximately the same width as a highlighter pen and with a rubber grip, the interactive pen is easily held. Simply touch the globe to hear fascinating information about that place or area. Countries, rivers, seas and oceans are all full of information waiting to be told.

In the box with the interactive pen is a small card which, when touched with the pen, changes the information unlocked on the globe’s surface. Choose between general information, national anthems or videos. When you download the Columbus Video Pen app and touch “video” on the card, the interactive pen will unlock YouTube videos that play on your smartphone.

When selecting “National Anthems” on the card, the pen will play selected national anthems for you.

The volume can be changed on the pen or headphones can plug directly to the pen for silent usage.

The pen is charged just like a smartphone and comes with a USB-USB C cable. Once charged the interactive pen lasts for many hours and holds charge for months.
