When unlit the rich blue globe shows physical mapping, with countries defined by thin black dashes allowing the user to focus fully on the yellow deserts, green forests and almost 3D textured mountains. When lit the cartography subtly changes to show political mapping, with country colours changing slightly, making countries more clearly defined. Importantly, this subtle effect achieves the effect of dual mapping without the beautiful cartography being diminished. The hand-laid map, depicts incredible ocean floor detail with striking shades of rich blue.
