Sandown "Free-Motion" 25cm Desk Globe

Hand-made in the Isle of wight from plaster of paris using atizanal techniques, Lander and May globes can be considered the highest level of "made in the UK" globes.

This Sandown model comes in 3 different sizes, 25cm (10"), 33cm (13") and 37cm (15"). Each model comes as a globe ball on a solid hard wood stand with ball bearings on the stand to enable "free-motion" of the ball. Whether you want to pick up the globe and look up places or simply move the globe freely on its base, it could not be easier.

The Sandown models are beautiful with earth tones contrasting beautifully with the sand coloured oceans and thousands of place names and pieces of information.

The maps on all Lander and May globes are hand-laid for the highest possible accuracy. The map cartography itself is developed in house on the Isle of Wight for up to date UK mapping. 

The artizanal techniques used by Lander and May establish a unique connection between the globemaker and the customer. Something truly special.
