The ultimate furniture accessory. 240 Swarovski crystals are individually heated and embellished into the globe’s surface by hand. This includes capital cities and major cities across the globe. These crystals sparkle like diamonds either when reflecting sunlight or when the globe’s light passes through them. The cut of each crystal allows them to reflect different colours of light as the globe is rotated creating an incredible multi-colour glittering effect that cannot be captured by photography or video.

The globe ball itself is highly detailed, showing political country boundaries when the light is off and physical features such as mountains when lit. The quality of the hand-laid mapping is such that the mountain ranges and ocean floor appear 3D when the globe is lit. The map itself is hand-laid onto the ball in strips of paper called gores which are sprayed with a protective gloss coating. This is the only way to ensure perfect accuracy whilst maintaining maximum detail and colour quality. Only the most premium globes are hand-laid, making this a rare and desirable feature. At 40cm in diameter, the globe is large enough to make an impressive visual statement without being too large to fit on most desks. This Azzurro model uses deep blue ocean colours presented in a professional way to appeal to all ages.

The base and ring are made from chromed steel. This adds to the premium quality of the globe as well as allowing the southern hemisphere to be reflected in the base, creating a unique effect when the globe is lit.

A new way to interact with your globe.

The Columbus interactive pen is fully compatible with every Columbus product. Any globe that is called Duo, Duorama, Azzurro or Royal on JustGlobes will come to life with the addition of the Columbus pen.

At approximately the same width as a highlighter pen and with a rubber grip, the interactive pen is easily held. Simply touch the globe to hear fascinating information about that place or area. Countries, rivers, seas and oceans are all full of information waiting to be told.

In the box with the interactive pen is a small card which, when touched with the pen, changes the information unlocked on the globe’s surface. Choose between general information, national anthems or videos. When you download the Columbus Video Pen app and touch “video” on the card, the interactive pen will unlock YouTube videos that play on your smartphone.

When selecting “National Anthems” on the card, the pen will play selected national anthems for you.

The volume can be changed on the pen or headphones can plug directly to the pen for silent usage.

The pen is charged just like a smartphone and comes with a USB-USB C cable. Once charged the interactive pen lasts for many hours and holds charge for months.
